Davo

In 2000, Davo was only 19 years old when he made his first television appearance, winning the $10,000 first prize on the Nine Network’s So You Want to Be a Comedian?, paving the way for his original comedy style.

Davo has produced, written and starred in his own Deputy Davo’s Pig-squeezing Country & Western Comedy Show which proved to be so successful, it had a selection of episodes appear on American cable TV station i2tv in 2009.

In 2010, Davo was hand-picked as support act for American comedian Pauly Shore’s Brisbane show and on the same night released his first live DVD Davo’s Australian Comedy. One of the most unique comedians in Australia, Davo has genuine international appeal.

In 2011 Davo made his first appearance at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival as part of the show Smooth Talkin’ Bastards in which the Herald Sun described him as “The star of the show…” and “…a must see.”

A selection of Davo’s comedy can be seen in the 2011 book Funny Buggers by Karl Chandler (Penguin Books).
