Gillian English

A Hobart based comic, actor, storyteller, and writer, Gillian English was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada. She has trained at Dalhousie University, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and the Second City Conservatory.

Gillian has been featured on Frocking Hilarious, RISK!, Definitely Not the Opera, CBC, CTV, and in the pages of Time Out New York, The National Post and Now Magazine for her work in theatre and comedy. She’s done the footy tipping with Jon Faine on ABC Radio, and is doing her damnedest to assimilate to Australia.

She is the Festival Director of Fringe at the Edge of the World in Hobart, Tasmania.

Previously she has toured her seven award winning solo shows to cities all over the world, including Montreal, Halifax, New York, Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne.

Gillian’s first comedy album “Fart Monster” was be released very soon through Howl and Roar Records Canada. It debuted at #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts.
