Thomas Ward

Tom Ward’s original/”weird” sense of humour has thrust him into Brisbane comedy as one of the youngest working comedians on the scene. Tom’s unconventional style draws on traditional story telling mixed with art, music and props to deliver his own brand of comedy.

After competing as a state finalist in Class clowns, Raw Comedy and Nova’s Nuts for Comedy, Tom now works regularly for every major comedy venue in Brisbane.

Tom co-produced and featured in the podcast ‘Josh Thomas and friend’ (he’s the friend) . The show currently sat as one of the top downloaded podcasts in the country. He also appears along side Josh in the Josh Thomas Variety hour at the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre. Tom took over the running of ‘Livewired Comedy’ in 2009, a weekly comedy show ran at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

Tom co-wrote many episodes of the four series of Please Like Me, along with creator Josh Thomas, which aired on ABC2 between 2013 and 2018 and was nominated for and won numerous awards. He also played the part of Josh’s housemate Tom in the series.

In 2015 he played the lead role in the short film My best friend’s stuck on the ceiling, in he co-created a pilot for New Zealand TV channel Three, called Golden Boy, which was was commissioned as a full 8-part comedy series, and in 2019 he wrote the six-part comedy-drama series Diary of an Uber Driver for ABC TV.
